Proximity to Ft. Campbell
- Oak Grove is most popularly known as “The Hometown of Fort Campbell,” as our quiet rural community is located just outside the gates of the 101st Airborne Division and the other units located inside of Ft. Campbell, including the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment & 5th Special Forces Group. This super short commute to Ft. Campbell makes Oak Grove an ideal place for soldiers and military families to live.
- Oak Grove military residents can also take advantage of certain state-wide military benefits. Active duty military members pay no Kentucky state income tax, and Christian County, Kentucky (where Oak Grove is located) also has no sales tax on groceries or new car purchases for active-duty military.

- Annual festivals – Our Spring Into Summer Festival recently celebrated its 12th anniversary and is the highlight of our spring calendar. Our award-winning Butterfly Festival has been going on for over a decade and is one of the most popular events in the region. This special experience culminates in the release of over 1,400 monarch butterflies!
- Local Parks – Our Oak Grove War Memorial Walking Trail Park pays homage to the veterans from all U.S. wars and conflicts by displaying a series of markers along the wooded trail. The park also features our Butterfly Garden, and Viceroy Performing Arts Center and is a great place to attend events, festivals and concerts throughout the spring, summer and fall.
- Local Distilleries – Christian County’s own MB Roland Distillery is a part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour and is located right down the road in nearby Pembroke, Kentucky. MBR is also a part of the Stateline Whiskey Tour alongside two other local distilleries that are within a 30 minute drive of Oak Grove, Hopkinsville’s Casey Jones Distillery & Clarksville’s Old Glory Distillery.
- Horse Racing – The entire Oak Grove community is excited for the completion of the Oak Grove Racing and Gaming facility in Summer 2020. The space will feature over 1,200 games, a 5-story hotel, restaurants, live horse racing, equestrian center and event space.
