PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
The City of Oak Grove needs two residents to fulfill the membership position for the Oak Grove Ethics Board. To meet the requirements of the Oak Grove Ethics Ordinance No. 2020-14, member requirements include members who have been a resident of the city for at least one (1) year prior to the date of appointment and shall reside in the city throughout the term of office and shall not be a city employee or officer, or the family member of a city employee or officer. Members must demonstrate strong leadership, must be able to interpret a variety of situations from different perspectives, and must be able to put personal beliefs aside. The members of the Ethics Board shall be chosen by their known and consistent reputation for integrity and their knowledge of local government affairs and shall be subject to a background check. Members of the ethics board shall be compensated in the amount of $30.00 per attended meeting. The term for a regular member is for three (3) years. All members are appointed by the mayor subject to the approval of the city council.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
The City of Oak Grove is looking for three (3) residents and/or business owners of Oak Grove who would be interested in serving on the city’s Goals and Objectives Subcommittee. The purpose of this subcommittee is to ensure that our city continuously moves forward in its service to the citizens of Oak Grove by setting short and long-term comprehensive goals that can be both beneficial and achievable. The City of Oak Grove is looking for one (1) resident or business owner who would be interested in serving on the city’s Economic Development Subcommittee. The purpose of this subcommittee is to expand and diversify the economic base of the city, address the business and economic needs of the community, and actively promote retention and expansion of the city. The purpose of this subcommittee is to plan, coordinate, and implement annual holiday events in Oak Grove. Member requirements include members being residents of the City of Oak Grove and must be available to attend meetings randomly. Preferences include knowledge of city municipality, ordinances, and/or land use regulations, but not required. If you are interested, please submit a letter in writing to City Hall or email the City Clerk at [email protected] stating your intent to join the board, any and all qualifications, and a brief bio. All members will be appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the City Council. Members appointed will be compensated by meetings attended at the rate of $25.00.
