City of Oak Grove: Business Recognition

Purpose: The City of Oak Grove is committed to promoting local businesses and fostering a thriving business community. As part of our ongoing efforts to support small businesses and stimulate the local economy, we are introducing a business showcasing initiative. This initiative aims to highlight businesses within the city by randomly selecting a local business to feature on the City's media outlets and website.

Policy Overview: Each month, a local Oak Grove business will be selected for a special spotlight. The selected business may receive promotional exposure through the city’s media channels, including the city website, social media platforms, newsletters, and any other available communication tools.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the business showcasing program, the following criteria must be met:

  1. The business must be located within the city limits of Oak Grove.
  2. The business must be in good standing with the City of Oak Grove and any relevant local authorities.
  3. The business must be fully operational and open to the public.
  4. The business must submit an official entry form (available on the City’s website) to be included in the random draw.

Entry Process:

  1. Business Registration:
    • Local businesses wishing to be considered must complete an online registration form, which includes basic business information such as name, address, contact details, and a brief description of the services or products offered.
    • The registration form must be submitted through the City of Oak Grove website or via email to [email protected].
  2. Random Draw:
    • All registered businesses will be entered into a computer-based random draw system.
    • A business will be randomly selected each month for a showcasing opportunity.
    • Once selected, the business will be contacted by the city to arrange details for the showcase.

Showcasing Process:

  1. Spotlight Feature:
    • The selected business will be highlighted on the City of Oak Grove’s website and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). This feature will include a brief interview with the business owner, photos of the business, and any other relevant information, such as special promotions or events.
  1. Promotional Materials:
    • The city may create promotional materials (such as flyers or banners) to further highlight the business in key public spaces within Oak Grove, such as city hall, parks, and other high-traffic areas.

Rotation and Frequency:

  • A new business will be selected each month for the showcase.

Program Duration:

  • Each business will be eligible for a single spotlight during the year unless otherwise noted by the city. Businesses will remain in the system for future draws after one year of being highlighted.

Publicity Rights:

  • By participating in this program, businesses consent to the use of their name, logo, images, and other media materials for promotional purposes by the City of Oak Grove.
  • Selected businesses will be required to provide appropriate imagery and information for the feature, including consent for publication on the city’s website and social media platforms.
