Motorists traveling between Clarksville, Fort Campbell, Oak Grove, and Hopkinsville should be aware of upcoming ramp closures that could impact their daily commute.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced that two westbound I-24 ramps at Exit 86 (Fort Campbell Boulevard/U.S. 41A) will close beginning Monday, October 26, at 6:00 a.m.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Location: I-24 Exit 86 in Christian County, Kentucky
Closure Begins: Monday, October 26, at 6:00 a.m.
Expected Duration: Approximately 2 to 3 weeks
The following ramps will be CLOSED:
I-24 Westbound EXIT ramp to U.S. 41A
U.S. 41A ENTRANCE ramp to I-24 Westbound
ALTERNATE ROUTE: Motorists can use I-169 at Exit 81 as a detour.
These closures are part of the ongoing I-24 reconstruction project between mile marker 85.5 and the Tennessee state line. Crews will be rebuilding the ramps to connect with the newly reconstructed westbound roadway.
THE GOOD NEWS: The overall reconstruction project is expected to wrap up by mid-November, with all four interstate lanes reopening to traffic!
PLEASE PLAN AHEAD! If your commute takes you through this area, allow additional travel time, anticipate possible congestion, and consider alternate routes.
