Owners Lisa and Adrian purchased the business to support their daughter, Riley, who had worked for the previous owner and quickly developed a passion for the store and the people it served. When the opportunity arose to purchase the business, they saw it as a chance to invest in Riley's future while continuing to provide a valuable resource for the Oak Grove community.

Since opening its doors, Artisan Grove Thrift has grown into a unique gathering place where residents can shop, learn new skills, meet friends, and explore their creativity. The store regularly provides free space for community classes and hobby groups, helping local instructors share their talents while encouraging community engagement. Activities include scrapbooking, journaling, sewing, painting, hand-stitching, gaming groups, and more. Riley is also exploring opportunities to offer children's classes and creative workshops in the future.

One of the store's most unique features is its commitment to being a true community space. Visitors are welcome to use designated areas for crafting, sewing, or simply spending time with others during business hours. Whether someone is looking to learn a new skill, work on a project, or enjoy conversation with fellow community members, Artisan Grove Thrift offers a comfortable and welcoming environment.

"We want this to be a place where people feel safe, comfortable, and connected," Riley shared. "A place where people can come to relax, create, and build friendships."

The store also welcomes community meetups and provides a safe, public location for groups to gather. For many visitors, Artisan Grove Thrift has become more than a store—it's a place to belong.

In addition to its retail offerings, Artisan Grove Thrift supports literacy and sustainability through its free little library and donation programs. Donations are always welcome, and donors receive a 10% coupon to use in the store. Items that cannot be sold are thoughtfully redistributed to other thrift stores and nonprofit organizations, helping ensure they continue to benefit others in the community.

Looking ahead, Lisa, Adrian, and Riley hope to continue expanding Artisan Grove Thrift's impact. Their long-term vision includes moving into a larger location, offering additional classes and services, and further establishing the business as a community hub. Riley also plans to pursue becoming a notary public and develop specialized skills in sewing machine repair, adding even more value to the services offered through the store.

Artisan Grove Thrift celebrated its Grand Opening on February 7, 2026, and will officially mark the occasion with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on June 30, 2026, AT 1:00PM.

    City of Oak Grove: Business Recognition

    Purpose: The City of Oak Grove is committed to promoting local businesses and fostering a thriving business community. As part of our ongoing efforts to support small businesses and stimulate the local economy, we are introducing a business showcasing initiative. This initiative aims to highlight businesses within the city by randomly selecting a local business to feature on the City's media outlets and website.

    Policy Overview: Each month, a local Oak Grove business will be selected for a special spotlight. The selected business may receive promotional exposure through the city’s media channels, including the city website, social media platforms, newsletters, and any other available communication tools.

    Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the business showcasing program, the following criteria must be met:

    1. The business must be located within the city limits of Oak Grove.
    2. The business must be in good standing with the City of Oak Grove and any relevant local authorities.
    3. The business must be fully operational and open to the public.
    4. The business must submit an official entry form (available on the City’s website) to be included in the random draw.

    Entry Process:

    1. Business Registration:
      • Local businesses wishing to be considered must complete an online registration form, which includes basic business information such as name, address, contact details, and a brief description of the services or products offered.
      • The registration form must be submitted through the City of Oak Grove website or via email to [email protected].
    2. Random Draw:
      • All registered businesses will be entered into a computer-based random draw system.
      • A business will be randomly selected each month for a showcasing opportunity.
      • Once selected, the business will be contacted by the city to arrange details for the showcase.

    Showcasing Process:

    1. Spotlight Feature:
      • The selected business will be highlighted on the City of Oak Grove’s website and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). This feature will include a brief interview with the business owner, photos of the business, and any other relevant information, such as special promotions or events.
    1. Promotional Materials:
      • The city may create promotional materials (such as flyers or banners) to further highlight the business in key public spaces within Oak Grove, such as city hall, parks, and other high-traffic areas.

    Rotation and Frequency:

    • A new business will be selected each month for the showcase.

    Program Duration:

    • Each business will be eligible for a single spotlight during the year unless otherwise noted by the city. Businesses will remain in the system for future draws after one year of being highlighted.

    Publicity Rights:

    • By participating in this program, businesses consent to the use of their name, logo, images, and other media materials for promotional purposes by the City of Oak Grove.
    • Selected businesses will be required to provide appropriate imagery and information for the feature, including consent for publication on the city’s website and social media platforms.
